Hayward College

174 single-bed large student rooms, providing contemporary accommodation through six floors for students at Hayward College, Otago University.

Compac Commercial was excited to get involved when it came to a revamp of Hayward’s residential building and room joinery. The design process required the development of economical, modern bedroom furniture, including shelving, a wardrobe, desk and drawers, as well as sourcing a comfortable study chair for each room. The joinery needed to be visually pleasing, but at the same time be robust enough to take the wear and tear of daily student life.

Compac Commercial worked with the developer to draw up and fine-tune a design to fit out each student room. Sister-company Compac Furniture manufactured the joinery using laminate product produced by Compac Panels and worked with our experienced team of installers to complete the install process, on-time, to budget. The outcome is up-to date, versatile bedroom furniture, contributing to the best home-away-from-home experience Hayward’s students have received yet!
