Compac Panels update 31 July 2026
Substrate Header#2-

Because we’re an NZ-owned and operated company, pressing our own boards, we can boast a larger range of substrates, sheet thicknesses and sizes, to provide the ideal panels which fulfill not just the aesthetic requirements, but the technical requirements.

MDF

Medium-Density Fibreboard

Best for:

Surface smoothness

Machinability

MDF Stack

Radiata pine fibres combined with wax and resin, then pressed under heat and pressure.

A fixed residential kitchen with routed painted doors, laminated carcasses and moderate shelf spans. Use HMR MDF in kitchen, bathroom and laundry zones where humidity or occasional spills are foreseeable, and sealing edges and cutouts.

  • Kitchen, laundry and wardrobes
  • Doors and drawer fronts
  • Short-to-medium shelving
  • Shopfitting and display cabinetry
  • Decorative wall panels
  • Benchtops

IndoPly

Falcata-core Plywood

Best for:

Very low weight

High strength-to-weight ratio

IndoPly

Lightweight falcata core with mixed-hardwood BB faces.

A motorhome or mobile retail fit-out where every kilogram matters. Decorative laminates will conceal the core, enhance substrate strength and durability. Shelf loads are moderate, and denser reinforcement is incorporated.

  • Motorhome, caravan and vehicle interiors
  • Lightweight overhead cabinetry
  • Portable furniture and mobile units
  • Exhibition stands and temporary displays
  • Large shopfitting panels
  • Weight-sensitive cabinetry and fit-outs

BirchPly

Full Birch Multi-Ply

Best for:

Dimensional Stability

Decorative Edge

Birch Ply Stack

Layered cross-bonded birch veneers.

A clear-finished commercial shelving or furniture system with visible edges, longer spans, substantial hardware loads and repeated use. Its additional mechanical and visual qualities are being used rather than hidden.

  • Long or heavily loaded shelving
  • Commercial and institutional cabinetry
  • Benchtops, desks and work surfaces
  • Tables and high-use furniture
  • Hardware-intensive joinery
  • Retail and hospitality fit-outs
  • Exposed-ply-edge cabinetry
